Built in the 1950s, the First Baptist Church in San Carlos has an intimate congregation of less than 100. Surrounded by neatly manicured lawns and large oak trees, the church regularly rents out the facility for both American and Spanish congregations, as well as to Catholic charities, who have held adult day services for more than 30 years. The church provides Sunday School for youth groups and mass for all comers every Sunday at 11 a.m.

Chrysalis Employment Service is a nonprofit organization. Its mission is to prepare homeless and impoverished workers for new vocational opportunities and place them in employment. Chrysalis specializes in transitioning not only homeless and low-income clients, but also ex-convicts, victims of domestic violence, recovering substance abusers and workers lacking a high school or general equivalency diploma.

Palos Verdes Art Center is non-profit community arts organization. It is involved with local schools and pre-schools and organizes tours of exhibitions, visiting speakers and gives scholarships. Visual art classes, drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, printmaking, digital arts, art history and much more is taught here, and everybody from ages 3 to 103, and of all skill levels, are welcome. The Goodwill Industries of the Redwood Empire (GIRE) is a non-profit organization that serves the Napa Valley and the surrounding communities. Mission Hills Church believes in love, worship and connection as the main principles of following Jesus. The church offers bible study, adult Sunday school, youth groups, men's bible study and various ministries. The church believes in personalizing services and studies to specific groups in hopes of creating a stronger connection with the meetings. The church is also involved in various community fundraisers such as Create-a-Crate, which encourages teachers to provide school supplies cut from current budge restraints. Elks Lodges offer community buildings for family recreational activities. Membership is required and only available by invitation from a current member. The Elks is an American fraternity and works to provide educational and patriotic programs for the community and its members.

This location is the Carmichael Lodge. The director is Thomas Busch. The lodge features 12 RV sites, a dining room that is open for lunch daily at 11:30am, a lounge area open for drinks and popcorn, banquet rooms that can be rented to the public, a bingo room and a swimming pool that is open from June 1 to Labor Day.

The stated goal of this local Home Owners Association is "to protect and maintain a vibrant, harmonious, safe and secure community in which residents have a richness of opportunities and property values are continually enhanced.” The recently renovated property features 438 units, beautiful landscaping and close proximity to schools and shopping venues. The community is located on a quiet lot toward the south end of Bay Farm Island.

The Louden Nelson Community Center is not named after a community icon named Louden. Through a typographical mix-up, so the story goes, the first "N" in Londen Nelson's name was transposed.

The center is in downtown Santa Cruz and provides free parking permits for the encircling block inside the center at the front desk. Louden Nelson houses a senior computer center, a teen center, and two rooms that can seat up to 127 people for various community and private events. Outdoors, a large playground is a popular spot for Santa Cruz children. An open field is often home to community events including the Juneteenth Celebration.
