Mariucci met with Lions owner Bill Ford and toured Ford Field and the team's training facility on Thursday. Mariucci has also talked with the team's president, Matt Millen, over the past few days. The Lions, seeking a replacement for fired coach Marty Mornhinweg, said the two sides had not reached an agreement. Robbins is bipolar Oakland Raiders center Barret Robbins has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, according to a statement released by his agent, Drew Pittman, ESPN reported on its Web site.

The statement, prepared with Robbins and his wife, Marisa, expresses remorse for the events surrounding the Super Bowl. Raiders coach Bill Callahan barred Robbins from playing in the Super Bowl after Robbins missed a team meeting, final walkthrough and showed up "incoherent" for a team meeting that Saturday. Spellman gets 18 months Former NFL lineman Alonzo Spellman was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for threatening the passengers and crew on a Delta Air Lines flight from Cincinnati to Philadelphia last year. A judge also ordered Spellman to spend three months in a rehabilitation center after his release from jail. He must also undergo psychological counseling and will be barred from flying on commercial airlines.

McLaughlin still racing Mike McLaughlin, the Waterloo native whose Busch Series team had its financing fall apart on the eve of the season, is going to Daytona, for the Koolerz 300 thanks to the help of friends and family. "This has been a very tough week for all of us involved with the team, but I'm not going to let this defeat me," McLaughlin said. Susan B's win hockey title Paced by goalie Laura Rogers' three shutouts, the Rochester Susan B's women's hockey team captured the women's championship of the Labatt Blue Hockey Challenge last weekend at ESL Sports Centre. The Susan B's, whose members range in age from 21 to 55, tied the Syracuse Blades o- then defeated the Columbus Capitals 4-0, the Ithaca Sirens 3-2 and the North Olmsted Blues 5-0 to sweep to the title. Lisa Casalmir led Rochester with four goals and Rogers was named tournament MVP. The Susan B's are the area's longest-running women's amateur hockey team. Female finalists named Jennifer Botterill, sister of Rochester Americans left winger Jason Botterill, and Olympian Natalie Darwitz are among the 10 candidates for USA Hockey's Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award.

Botterill (Harvard) ranks second in the nation in scoring and leads the Crimson with 62 points (26 assists, 36 goals). Darwitz (Minnesota) ranks third in the nation in scoring with 52 points (24-28).
