HoYoverse has only confirmed Emilie as the new playable character in Version 4.8, as opposed to the three new units in Version 4.7 (the 5-star characters Clorinde and Sigewinne, and the 4-star unit Sethos). Emilie is confirmed to be a Dendro unit, though her rarity and abilities will likely remain under wraps until the Version 4.8 livestream, where she is expected to be presented more thoroughly. Nevertheless, rumors of Emilie in Genshin Impact 4.8 leaks mention she is a 5-star Dendro polearm user who operates as a sub-DPS in team comps with a focus on the Burning reaction.
These rumors mention that Emilie augments the power of Burning reactions and increases the team’s resistance to the effect, which should make her a reliable pair for main Pyro DPS units, like Arlecchino, Hu Tao, or Lyney, for instance.
The First Half Of The Update May Only Bring Reruns
Even though has been confirmed as a new character in Version 4.8, the rest of the featured 5-star characters and the banner structure for the update are still uncertain. If this is true, this means Emilie should be left out of banners as soon as the patch arrives. Navia is having her first rerun ever since her debut in Version 4.3, which was added in late 2023. Navia is a 5-star Geo DPS character who specializes in creating Elemental Shards and using these pick-ups from the Crystallize reaction to enhance her own damage. While she pairs up well with other Geo units, Navia does get bonuses from working with characters of other Elements.
Her affinity with the Geo element and being a Claymore DPS unit makes Navia great for breaking shields, such as those of the Legatus Golem boss in Genshin Impact.
Nilou, on the other hand, is heading toward her second rerun if the leaks are true. The last time Nilou appeared in banners was in Version 3.6, well over a year ago. Nilou is a 5-star Hydro sword user who operates best when employed as a sub-DPS. Nilou is perfect for Bloom reactions since she transforms Dendro Cores into Bountiful Cores. The character can also help with Hydro application, making her a suitable off-field sub-DPS rather than one that needs intense on-field presence. Nilou relies on Dendro characters in Genshin Impact, and the best ones are premium units.
Phase 1 banners should last from July 17 to August 7 if there are no delays to the game’s regular schedule.
Leaked Phase 2 Banners In Genshin Impact 4.8
Emilie Should Debut In The Latter Half Of The Update
The leaks mention that Phase 2 banners will be composed of Emilie’s debut and a rerun of Yelan. Emilie’s details have yet to be made official, but Yelan is already a well-established character – and considered one of the best sub-DPS units in the entire game. Yelan is a 5-star Hydro bow user who is a master at dealing off-field Hydro damage, even if she is mostly reliant on her Elemental Burst to do so.
If Yelan truly reruns in Version 4.8, players will have the chance to obtain a character who can set the stage for Vaporize, Freeze, Melt, Electro-Charged, Burgeon, and even Hyperbloom reactions. Because of her Hydro application and damage potential, she fits in a variety of possible team comps in Genshin Impact.
Wriothesley Is Overdue A Rerun Banner
As exemplified by users in the comment section of the post on Reddit, the Version 4.8 banner leaks are somewhat worrying since they boast an evident lack of Cryo characters. In fact, reliable 5-star Cryo characters have been missing from the gacha system for quite a while now. Players are mostly advocating for a Wriothesley rerun, which should have taken priority over Navia since he was released in Version 4.2. Nevertheless, the 5-star character seems to have been left behind once again, though his name has been mentioned in Genshin Impact banner leaks for the past two updates.
In addition to Wriothesley, who is due a rerun, other notable 5-star Cryo characters have been absent for a while. For now, banner leaks should be taken with some caution, as the information provided may be incorrect or subject to change ahead of the release.
