Title I Status
The display indicates the status of participation in the federal Title I financial assistance program for schools with high numbers or percentages of children from low-income families.Learn More
The display shows the building’s Title I status. There are four possible values:
Not eligible for Title I support
Eligible, but not participating: Schools with this label qualify for federal Title I program support but are not participating in the program.
Targeted: In a Title I, Part A targeted assistance school(s), Title I funds may only be used to provide supplemental instructional services to eligible children identified as having the greatest need for special assistance. Eligible children are children identified by the school as failing, or most at risk of failing, to meet the challenging state academic standards on the basis of multiple, educationally related, objective criteria.
Comprehensive: Schoolwide programs are not districtwide and must be planned for and implemented at each individual school building (also known as attendance center) in the district. A Title I, Part A schoolwide program is a comprehensive reform strategy designed to upgrade the entire educational program in a Title I school with a poverty percentage of 40% or more in order to improve the achievement of the lowest-achieving students.
