Is 16GB of RAM enough for VR? ›

Ideally, you want: 16GB RAM (minimum)

Though it's hard to argue that any graphics card is too fast for VR, opting for a card like an AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT or an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, at a minimum, is a good idea for high-end HMDs, even though their minimum GPU specs are much lower.

Try to get the headset to sit evenly on your face; otherwise, it can cause pressure points and discomfort. Another way to make the head strap more comfortable is to get an Elite Strap or a halo style strap. These head straps are designed to take some pressure off the face by redistributing it to the top of your head.

Due to this we recommend 32GB for most systems, to have plenty of space for applications and a measure of future-proofing. For VR developers, we recommend 64GB or more depending on the full suite of software being used.

I run it OK with 32 gig, 16 was not enough at all. I wanted to go 64 but was talked out of it. Where did you see the increase? I'd say you need 32GB or RAM for DCS regardless of whether you're using VR or not...

For Windows, the amount of RAM you aasign vm really depends on how much RAM you have to start with. Personally, I assign c. 6 GB as I have 16GB. With 16GB, I would leave host 8GB and 1 vm 8GB, or 2 simultaneous vms, 4 GB each.
