The rewards are worth both the grind and the effort, as they can slash travel times, increase yields and give you access to some of the best equipment.

Updated May 13, 2024 by Jack Pierik: You're probably familiar with the classic saying: nobody ever really quits Runescape, they just take really long breaks from time to time. If you've been putting off certain achievement diary tasks, or don't know where to start, this update will hopefully give you a bit of motivation or direction.

With three new entries, we're showing some love to Ironman accounts that really need to get on the glassblowing grind, habitual Zulrah farmers that need an extra attempt every once in a while, and folks that frequently hit the Fountain of Rune to recharge their Dragonstone gear.

13 Daily Buckets Of Sand

If you're an Ultimate Ironman, you won't benefit from this, since... well, you don't have bank access to begin with.

If you complete every Elite task within the Ardougne achievement diary, one of the benefits is receiving a daily delivery of 84 fresh buckets of sand to your bank; no need to talk to Bert over in Yanille anymore. Although, he'd probably enjoy the company.

While this reward probably isn't very compelling for a lot of you, it's a pretty huge time-saver for Ironman accounts that want to passively build up a healthy supply of sand buckets, which is vital for glassblowing, and thus, Crafting and Construction endeavors.

12 One Free Resurrection At Zulrah Per Day

Old School RuneScape: 13 Most Useful Achievement Diary Rewards (3)

If you're getting tired of fighting other bosses, like Vorkath, or you're still not too confident in your bossing skills yet when it comes to fighting Zulrah, it'd likely be worth your time to complete every Elite task for the Western Provinces achievement diary.

Once you've done all that, you'll get one free resurrection per day at Zulrah, which means you could, at the very least, get in one practice run per day, no strings attached, to help develop your skills and master this big, green snake's attack patterns.

11 Unlimited Teleports To The Fountain Of Rune

Old School RuneScape: 13 Most Useful Achievement Diary Rewards (4)

If you're able to complete every Elite task within the Wilderness achievement diary, you'll be rewarded with the Wilderness Sword 4, which consequently grants you unlimited teleports to the Fountain of Rune, which is located deep inside the wilderness.

If you find yourself frequently needing to recharge Dragonstone gear, like the Ring of Wealth, Amulet of Glory, or a Skills Necklace, this max-tier Wilderness Sword is a must-have, since it allows for faster recharge runs, and reduces your overall time spent in the wilderness; stay away, player killers.

10 Zaff's Battlestaves

Old School RuneScape: 13 Most Useful Achievement Diary Rewards (5)

Should you complete the Easy Varrock Achievement Diary, Zaff, the residential staff sales assistant, located North West of Varrock’s central fountain, will sell you 15 Battlestaves, per day, at a reduced rate of 7,000 coins each. As an actively traded item, Battlestaves on the Grand Exchange tend to go for 8,000 coins each. This means, if you have only completed the Easy Diary, this is a free 15,000 coins profit per day for very minimal effort or time.

This perk, however, is enhanced throughout the multiple tiers of the diary, with the Elite Diary allowing you to purchase 120 Battlestaves daily from Zaff, making the daily profit from these 120,000 coins. Over a 30-day month, doing this daily, will accumulate 3.6 million coins all at the expense of a minute of your time per day.

9 Increased Pharaoh's Sceptre Charges

Old School RuneScape: 13 Most Useful Achievement Diary Rewards (7)

Outside of free carpet rides and unlimited teleports to the Kalphite Cave, the Desert Diaries are often seen as inferior. The rewards do not match the efforts needed to achieve them and so, are often forgotten about or left entirely. One overlooked perk, though, is the Pharaoh's Sceptre.

With a cost of 2.5 million coins and a pitiful three charges to begin with, it is not worth the effort of ever recharging it, due to the time it takes to travel to the location needed to do so as well as the average cost to recharge it being 36,000 coins. However, with the different tiers of the Achievement Diaries completed, these charges drastically increase to ten, 25, 50 and 100 respectively, making it a more worthwhile item.

8 Rada’s Blessing (4)

Old School RuneScape: 13 Most Useful Achievement Diary Rewards (8)

Equipping Blessings in your RuneScape character's ammunition slot adds a valuable bonus to your Prayer stat. This enhancement becomes particularly advantageous during combat, where maximising your Prayer Bonus is important. A higher Prayer Bonus translates to a reduced rate of Prayer points depletion, allowing you to stay in battles for longer.

Although the majority of Blessings provide a modest +1 bonus, Rada's Blessing (4), from the Elite Kourend & Kebos Diary, stands out by elevating this boost to +2. Meaning, when aiming to assemble the best-in-slot equipment, Rada’s Blessing (4) is part of that puzzle and will ensure that your character has the best advantage possible.

7 The BoneCrusher

Old School RuneScape: 13 Most Useful Achievement Diary Rewards (9)

The BoneCrusher is a reward for completing the Morytania Hard Diary and can be retrieved from the Ghost Disciple in the Ectofuntus. When held in your inventory, and charged with Ecto-Tokens, whenever you kill a monster that would drop bones, these are automatically destroyed, granting half of the experience burying them would have provided.

If you have completed the Morytania Elite Diary, the effect is then boosted to provide you with the full experience you would have received if you had buried the bones yourself. This makes the item perfect for when you’re training Slayer or Hunter as the amount of bones dropped will gain you passive XP in the Prayer skill.

6 Ardougne Cloak's Farming Patch Teleport

Old School RuneScape: 13 Most Useful Achievement Diary Rewards (10)

Farming is an essential part of OSRS, even more so if you’re an IronMan. However, getting to all the various Farming Patches can take quite a bit of running and time. Luckily, there are various items in the game that teleport you either close-by or directly to specific Farming Patches. One of these items is the Ardougne Cloak.

With the Ardougne Medium Diary, you are rewarded with three daily teleports to the Ardougne Farming Patch, this is then increased to five with the Hard Diary completed, and further enhanced to unlimited upon completion of the Elite Diary, making the latter an exceptional perk to obtain.

5 Noted Dagannoth Bones

Old School RuneScape: 13 Most Useful Achievement Diary Rewards (12)

Players frequently target the Dagannoth Kings to secure loot like the Berserker, Seers, and Archer's Rings. Additionally, there's a one in 128 chance of obtaining the Dragon Axe from them, an especially valuable drop for Ironmen players.

Their guaranteed drop consists of their bones, valued at 8000 coins. Regrettably, collecting these bones for sale tends to be an afterthought due to the significant inventory space required for supplies and equipment to engage each King, as well as the time investment needed to reach them.

Completing the Elite Fremennik Achievement Diary changes this. Once achieved, the Dagannoths start dropping their bones in noted form. This change enables you to stack these bones in your inventory, thus maximising the potential profits.

4 50 Percent More Runes From Barrows

Old School RuneScape: 13 Most Useful Achievement Diary Rewards (13)

Barrows is a lower level bossing activity that requires you to dig into each Barrow Brother’s tomb and slay them. After you’ve done that, you’ll go underground and loot their chest in the centre of the crypt. The chest provides unique equipment possessing special effects as well as a ton of supplies to help you on your adventures around Gielinor.

A large chunk of supplies you receive from Barrows will be runes to help with your Magic training. These also act as a way to pay you back for the runes used in slaying the Barrows Brothers. Should you complete the Morytania Hard Achievement Diary, you’ll unlock 50 percent more runes every time you loot the Barrows Chest, making the boss even more rewarding.

3 Increased Chance At Higher Level Ore When Mining Paydirt

Old School RuneScape: 13 Most Useful Achievement Diary Rewards (14)

Mining is not a fan-favourite skill by any means; however, with the Motherlode Mine, it becomes slightly more bearable due to its AFK nature and scaled profitability. Upon successfully finishing the Elite Falador Achievement Diary, miners unlock a significant advantage while cleaning their paydirt within the Motherlode Mine.

The reward is an increased chance of obtaining higher-tier ores, which considerably enhances the profit potential within the mine. The best benefit from unlocking this reward, however, comes from the ability to bypass overcrowding and competition at the Adamantite and Runite ore locations. Players often find trying to mine at these locations practically impossible, so the increased chance to get these via Paydirt, reduces the potential grind when it comes to making high level equipment.

2 Hands-Free Fairy Rings

Old School RuneScape: 13 Most Useful Achievement Diary Rewards (15)

If you’ve ever run to a Fairy Ring, but forgot your Lunar or Dramen Staff, then you will know the pain of having to use up your teleports to quickly grab one from your bank and run back. However, with the Lumbridge and Draynor Elite Achievement Diary that becomes a thing of the past.

When completing the Diary, you’re able to leave your staves in the bank and travel via Fairy Ring as many times as you’d like and to wherever you would like. Not only is this a huge benefit to the quality of life of the game, but it also saves you on weight and inventory space, meaning you get to places quicker, and with the ability to bring more supplies on the trip with you.

1 Elite Void

Old School RuneScape: 13 Most Useful Achievement Diary Rewards (17)

Elite Void is by no means easy to obtain; first, you will have to grind out the original void gear via hours of Pest Control. You'll then additionally need to complete the Hard Western Provinces Diary, as well as gain another 400 Pest Control points in order to upgrade it to the Elite version. However, don't let all that put you off. Elite Void is some of the best equipment the game provides and is well worth the effort it takes to get it.

The increase in both accuracy and damage dealt is one of the primary advantages of this set. This proves invaluable against bosses and other high-levelled monsters in the game, where precision and harder hits could make all the difference. The Elite Void top and bottom also offer a +3 Prayer bonus on each item, which is effective at prolonging battles.
