Technically the same. You typically share 25% of your DNA with a half sibling and 25% with a first cousin. My half brother and I did a Ancestry DNA test and it said we shared 23% of our DNA and that we are close family-1st cousins. It also showed that we shared a mother but not a father.

When we first read your DNA, however, we can't tell which parts of your DNA came from which parent.
