A number of chaotic three- and four-team tie scenarios involving the AL West, AL Wild Card and NL Wild Card remained in play until the final days of the 2023 regular season. Ultimately, though, none ended up coming to fruition.

There was a two-team tie between the Astros and Rangers, who both finished with identical 90-72 records. Houston won its season series against Texas, which means the Astros are the AL West champions and receive a bye to the AL Division Series. Meanwhile, the Rangers finished as the second AL Wild Card team and will take on the Rays in one AL Wild Card Series.
