How long are people waiting before going in to feed or comfort? I've tried waiting a few mins to see if she will go back to sleep but she never ever does and only gets more hysterical and harder to calm or get back to sleep. Even if I go in and put my hand on her chest she just gets more angry, so I now just go in and pick her up immediately and rock her back to sleep. Am I creating bad habits? Should I wait longer?

I don’t wait, I go check on her as soon as I hear her. I do try settling her with a pacifier before anything else which sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. In my opinion, I think it’s too early to just let them cry and I don’t think you’re creating bad habits

@jg727,
same pacifier first and if she spits it out that means she is hungry

just to add, We are dealing with a lot of false starts at the beginning of the night and short naps where I'll go in and rock back to sleep. once she settles, she sleeps through the night so I'm not going in constantly in the MOTN

if she's barely fussing I will wait. but if she's actively crying I will absolutely pick her up and comfort her.
